Diana Beam and her family sailed to St. John from her home town in Florida in 1982 and built their first Coral Bay home while living aboard and cruising the islands.

Real estate has been a rewarding career for Diana and allowed her ample time with her two children and their many activities while supporting their schools and extracurricular activities. She served on the Board of Directors and as Co-Chairperson for Pine Peace School’s (now The Gifft Hill School) auction for five years.

Diana has a background in banking that has meshed well with her sales of commercial and residential real estate. Her designations as Real Estate Broker as well as Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS)and Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) are signs of her commitment to professionalism and to keeping informed of the latest trends in St. John's real estate market. Signature sales have included waterfront parcels, commercial complexes, many properties on the north shore and some of the most beautiful homes on the island.

Deciding to branch out on her own after 15 years of sales was a decision based mostly on the fact that much of her business was referred to her by other RE/MAX agencies. Finding the ideal in-town location, Diana opened up RE/MAX Island Paradise Realty in January 2004. Joining forces with The Bornn Firm, one of the territories most prestigious law firms with offices now on all three islands, First Banks Mortgage department, the territories biggest lender, and an affiliation with McLaughlin Andersons Luxury Villas, she quickly fulfilled her goal of offering full real estate services all under one roof. Her greatest joy has been helping others make their dream of owning a piece of this tropical paradise a reality. Re/Max Island Paradise Realty reloacted to the prestigous and upscale shopping center, Mongoose Junction.

Putting the finishing touches on her new Coral Bay home and with her two children now graduated from colleges in Boston and Savannah, Diana finds ample time to make RE/MAX Island Paradise Realty one of the top real estate agencies on St. John offering Buyers and Sellers personal service and sharing over 20 years of island knowledge.

Recognized among top professionals in the real estate industry for outstanding achievements by receiving the Re/Max Platinum Club Award for 2005 and 2007, the Re/Max Exectutive Club Award for 2004 and 2006, the Re/Max 100% Club Award and in 2010 the Re/Max Hall of Fame Award and SPIRIT Awards.

Diana Beam was presented with the 2009 “Spirit Award” for the RE/MAX Caribbean and Central America Region, at the 2010 RE/MAX International Convention that took place earlier this month in Orlando, Florida. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding affiliates who show extraordinary commitment to the real estate profession and continue to raise the bar in the industry and in the community.

In 2009, only 17 percent of all RE/MAX Affiliates earned this prestigious award. She was also awarded the Re/Max Hall of Fame Award. You may have recognized Diana Beam in a recent episode of HGTV’s House Hunters International where she featured three homes for sale on the island of St. John. Shortly after the show aired, Diana sold all three homes!

Jared Warren after Graduating with a degree in marine biology, Jared packed up and moved to the Virgin Islands to work for the National Park, explore the colorful reefs and sail in the fresh tradewinds. His passion for sailing soon led to a career of it when he became captain of the small tall ship "Breath". While working as a captain on a sailboat in the Virgin Islands, you are constantly in a prime viewing spot for looking at Real Estate. The magnificent homes perch grandly over the sea, and the vacant lots glow green in the sunlight. This made for many conversations with interested buyers. Combining his past experience working in real estate in Colorado and his family background in real estate, Jared chose to pursue his license in order to become completedly knowledgable and officially answer the charter guests' questions. He chose to work with Re/Max Island Paradise Realty because he knew that offering Re/Max's international marketing capabilities would help him better serve his clients. Jared has recently taken his own advice and bought into the local real estate market, capitalizing on the benefits of income generating property while enjoying healthy appreciation. After graduating from college with a BA in Communications, Courtney left Texas and moved to Southern California to fulfill her dreams of a successful sales career. After three years of working as an Executive Field Sales Representative for Pitney Bowes, she made the transition to working as a Loan Officer in the mortgage industry. Courtney then spent the next five years working for a mortgage broker financing home loans. Her professionalism and commitment to her clients led to many “top producer” awards and sales achievements.  However, Courtney didn’t see herself living in California for the long run. Her ultimate dream was to move to a “paradise like” island and dive into the real estate market. 

After a week long vacation on St. John, Courtney and her husband, Nile fell in love with the beauty of the island and the opportunities it has to offer.  Shortly thereafter, they packed up and moved to what St. Johnians call “the gem” of the Caribbean.  With Courtney’s previous accomplishments in sales and mortgage, she was determined to work as a Real Estate Agent for a premier realty company.  She joined Re/Max Island Paradise Realty and was taken under the wing of Broker/ Owner, Diana Beam and is now a licensed Sales Agent. Diana’s expertise in St. John real estate has led Courtney on the right track to a long and successful career in Real Estate.  While Courtney is busy working with Buyers and Sellers, Nile has opened St. John’s newest restaurant, “Cactus on the Blue” in the previous Stone Terrace location.  Stop in for their signature Mexican martini!

John started visiting St. John in 1998. The instant he set foot on the sand he knew someday he would live and work here in paradise. Over the next several years he visited St John frequently and in 2003 he purchased his first piece of real estate in Virgin Grand Estates through RE/MAX Island Paradise Realty. In June of 2005, he started construction on Villa South Palm. The 4-bedroom pool villa was completed by June of 2006 and it was sold in 2007 and remains a premier rental villa in the Virgin Grand Estates. In February of 2011 John and his wife Denise, also a RE/MAX Island Paradise Realty Sales Associate, purchased a home in Great Cruz Bay called Villa Chez Shell and soon after Closing they moved to St John and now reside here full time. Recently married they have 5 boys between them ages 20, 18, 18, 17, and 11. John and Denise finished putting the final touches on Chez Shell and including adding a pool. John received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Mathematics from St. Joseph's College In Indiana in 1988. After graduating, he worked as a Commercial Banker for 12 years. After departing the banking industry, John started his own custom home construction company based in Northwest Indiana. As a self taught general contractor, he built over 85 custom presold homes over a 10 year period. As founder and owner he was responsible for every aspect of the company from sales, material logistics, project management, customer satisfaction, accounting and assisting his clients with their applications for construction loans. John looks forward to using his knowledge and experience in both banking and general contracting to better assist both Buyers and Sellers. With his background in banking and years of experience in building, both in the states and here on Island, John will be an asset especially for those looking to purchase land with the intention to build. John's decision to become a licensed real estate associate with Re/Max Island Paradise Realty was based on past experiences with Broker/Owner Diana Bam and her office. John has bought and sold several properties on St. John with Diana'ss assistance and always enjoyed the professionalism that surrounded each transaction.

Denise Obbagy first came to St. John in 1998. It didn't take much for her to fall in love with this island gem. She visited many times since 1998 and this past February, she and husband John (also a RE/MAX Island Paradise Realty sales associate) purchased a lovely villa named Chez Shell in Great Cruz Bay. Soon after Closing, they packed up and moved to the island to reside full time. Recently married, Denise and John have five wonderful boys between them, ages 20, 18, 18, 17 and 11. Before moving to St. John Denise co-owned and ran a major multi-million dollar snow contracting company in the Midwest, servicing the other side of real estate, property management. She simultaneously opened a women's apparel and jewelry boutique and soon after began a franchising organization offering her newly developed boutique.

While running several successful businesses and raising three boys over 17 years, she took to designing and building three custom homes and two commercial retail build-outs. Now she has brought all that experience and knowledge with her here to St. John and is looking forward to her new career as a RE/MAX Island Paradise Sales Associate where she can share her building and design knowledge with Buyers and Sellers while she and John begin construction of their next home in Point Rendezvous in the spring. Denise chose to become a Real Estate Sales Associate with Re/Max Island Paradise Realty because of her previous dealings with Broker/Owner Diana Beam and because for Denise, Re/Max is a household name. Denise has been a Buyer and Seller who has worked with RE/Max for several years, on St. John and stateside where she consistently enjoyed the entire experience.

John McCann launched his full-time real estate career in Boston in 1995, where he quickly became a top producer, working in many facets of real estate including residential and commercial sales, as well as residential rentals.

John always had the dream of living in the Virgin Islands and originally "dipped his toes in the water" with the purchase of his first Villa on St. John in 1999. The allure of the islands (and his intolerance of those Boston winters!) finally led him to move to St. John, full time, two years later, in 2001.

In his 10 years since he first settled on the island, a lot has happened. John realized that his dream of living in the most beautiful place in the world and doing what he loved most, listing, selling and investing in real estate had come true and he never looked back. John has a very long list of satisfied clients and customers.

John is thrilled to be joining Re/Max Island Paradise Realty. Before joining Re/Max, John operated his own independent office, John McCann & Associates Real Estate, for over 7 years. He was voted the #1 Real Estate Sales Agent on St. John in 2006, and appeared on HGTV House Hunters International in 2009 and his episode was named the #1 International Destination for 2009. John is licensed in the US Virgin Islands and in Massachusetts.

After graduating from Rhode Island College Rob spent much of his career working in Human Resources for a zoo in Providence RI.  "I worked with the more dangerous two legged creatures as opposed to the four legged ones" Rob jokes. He and his partner Ken decided to move to the Caribbean to escape the long and cold New England winters.  After much exploration they decided to call St. John home and have opened up a small successful shop named "St.Johnimals, Island Pet Outfitter". After spending a year getting the store up and running, Rob decided to take on a part-time position. As Re/Max Island Paradise Realty was involved in the purchase of Ken & Rob's island home and he was already familiar with their sterling reputation, it seemed a perfect match.  "Ken and I bought and sold a number of homes in New England so it is interesting to see the process from a little different perspective. Who knows maybe one day I'll follow in Courtney's footsteps and get my license too. But for now, I really enjoy working in the office with Diana and the rest of the team".
